The story
A project worth looking at properly.
This wedding transformed the IXL Events Centre at Dallas Burston Polo Club into a midnight ballroom: a dark, starlit room where the light came from a canopy of grand crystal chandeliers suspended over the tables, rigged and lit by Kudos AV as the venue's in-house production team.
At the centre of the room, a mirrored circular display carried the cake on an illuminated geometric dancefloor, with a large LED screen behind it carrying content through the evening. The floral design and styling were provided separately; our job was to light them beautifully.
Production scope
Designed. Built. Delivered.
The production disciplines brought together for this project.
Chandelier Canopy
Grand crystal chandeliers rigged over the tables and lit as the heart of the room design.
Lighting Design & Show
From lilac dinner washes to a full concert-grade beam show for the party.
LED Screen & Content
A large LED screen carrying the couple's monogram and content through the night.
Illuminated Dancefloor
A geometric illuminated dancefloor as the centrepiece of the room.
First Dance on Clouds
Low fog across the floor for a first dance danced on cloud.
Centre Display Staging
The mirrored circular cake display staged and lit at the centre of the dancefloor.
Sound
Full sound for speeches, the live performance and the party.
Show Operation
One in-house team running rigging, lighting, LED and sound end to end.
The Moment
A first dance on clouds
For the first dance, low fog rolled across the floor so the couple danced on a bed of cloud, picked out by tight white beams from above, one of the most photographed moments of the night.
From there the room changed character completely: a full concert-grade light show took over for the party, golden beams over the live performance and colour sweeping the floor as the chandeliers glittered through the haze.
