The story
A project worth looking at properly.
A lavish wedding at the London Hilton on Park Lane, one of the capital's grandest ballrooms. Kudos delivered the full technical production and bespoke build, turning the room into an immersive, projection-led setting that changed through the evening.
The room was dressed with black draping, and the production was designed to sit inside it: projection surfaces, a bespoke stage and a bespoke dancefloor, all lit and run by one team from load-in to the last dance. (The floral design was provided separately.)
Production scope
Designed. Built. Delivered.
The production disciplines brought together for this project.
Cake Projection Mapping
Content projection-mapped directly onto the multi-tiered wedding cake, making it a moving centrepiece.
Projected Backdrops
Projection onto shark-teeth gauze behind the head table, blended into the black draping, changing the theme through the night.
Bespoke Stage
A custom stage built for the head table and performances, integrated with the projection.
Bespoke Dancefloor
A bespoke illuminated dancefloor as the centrepiece of the party.
Lighting Design
A full lighting rig in rich colour, washing the room, tables and drapes to match each backdrop.
Mirror Staging & Set
Mirror-finish staging and set elements to lift and reflect the projection and lighting.
Sound & DJ
A full sound system and DJ running the evening from the ceremony reception to the party.
Full Show Operation
One in-house team running projection, lighting, AV and sound end to end.
The Feature
Projection mapping onto the wedding cake
The centrepiece was a multi-tiered wedding cake with content projection-mapped directly onto it, so the cake itself became a moving, animated feature at the heart of the room.
Behind the head table, projection onto shark-teeth gauze, chosen to blend seamlessly into the black draping, created a series of full backdrops that changed the theme of the room throughout the evening.
