FOUNDXRS Club Black Tie Party at the Natural History Museum
FOUNDXRS Club, the London members’ club for founders and entrepreneurs, took Earth Hall for a black tie party. Kudos AV built the whole night: the dancefloor and the bar, uplighting through the hall, a stage wash, the sound system and an extensive lighting rig over the dancefloor.

The story
Black tie, beneath the Earth.
FOUNDXRS Club is a private members’ club for founders and entrepreneurs, with its clubhouse at the Old Sessions House in Farringdon. For a black tie party its members took the museum after hours, in Earth Hall, the tall dark hall where the escalator rises into the great Earth sculpture.
Kudos AV supplied everything the night ran on: a dancefloor and a bar, uplighting through the hall, a stage wash, the sound system and an extensive lighting rig over the dancefloor. This was the full production, with every part of the room lit and working.

Dancefloor

The club
Founders, partners and a black tie dress code.
FOUNDXRS brings together founders, investors and entrepreneurs through masterclasses, investment evenings and experiences. The party in Earth Hall was one of those experiences, with guests in black tie and the club’s partners on the backdrop at arrival.
The backdrop carried the FOUNDXRS mark alongside the evening’s partners, and made the first photograph of the night for every guest coming down into the hall.
Uplighting
Earth Hall, lit from the floor up.
Earth Hall is a tall, dark space, and uplighting along its walls and columns turned it red from the floor up, with blue picking out the curved balcony rails, the Earth sculpture glowing at the top of the escalator and the Stegosaurus lit red at the entrance.
Every fixture sits where the design needs it without fixing anything to the museum’s fabric, which matters in a heritage building. See more of our lighting design.
The dancefloor
A dancefloor and a full rig above it.
The centre of the night was the dancefloor. Kudos AV laid the floor and hung an extensive lighting rig over it, so that once the formal part of the evening was over the hall turned into a party, with moving lights throwing red, white and purple beams across the dancers.
The DJ played from the stage, so the rig, the screen and the booth read as one picture from the dancefloor.
The bar
A red bar, lit from within.
The curved bar carried the FOUNDXRS X on its front and glowed red from within, dressed with florals on top, so it sat in the same palette as the uplighting on the walls behind it.
Guests moved between the bar, the lounge and the dancefloor without leaving the lit heart of the room.
Stage & sound
A stage wash, and sound for the whole hall.
The stage sat beneath the Earth sculpture, dressed with a FOUNDXRS backdrop printed in our own workshop, and a stage wash lifted the speakers at the red FOUNDXRS lectern out of the darker hall. The sound system carried the speeches clearly, then the music on the dancefloor for the rest of the night.
