Wedding at Tatton Park

A concert stage built inside Tatton Park's Tenants' Hall: LED screen and LED strip canopy over the stage, d&b sound for a live band from Paris, a lighting truss over a bespoke printed dancefloor, mirror-top tables and long family tables either side of the floor.

The Wedding

A concert stage inside a stately home

The brief for this Tatton Park wedding was simple to say and demanding to build: give the party a real concert stage, in a room guests arrive at through an eighteenth-century estate. Working with wedding planner Silver Fox, Kudos AV transformed the Tenants' Hall into a full production venue: a stage with an LED screen behind it, strips of LED screen rising over the stage into a glowing canopy, and a lighting truss flown over the dancefloor.

The entertainment earned the stage. Your Dream Band flew in from Paris, DJ H kept the floor moving between sets, and Nihal and his drumline drove the party on dhol drums, with dancers framing the floor through the night. Every act ran on the same d&b sound system, tuned for a live band in a hall this size.

The Venue

A Tatton Park wedding, produced for the room

Tatton Park is one of the North West's landmark wedding venues: a Georgian mansion in a thousand acres of Cheshire parkland outside Knutsford, with the Tenants' Hall taking celebrations of up to 350 guests. The hall is a rare thing, a big, pillar-free room in a stately home, which makes it a genuine blank canvas for production.

That is exactly how we treated it. Drinks started on the gravel in front of the mansion, with a mirror-finish LED screen set outdoors against the stone, and as guests walked into the hall the estate handed over to the show. If you are planning a wedding at Tatton Park, this is what the room can become.

The Production

Screen, canopy, truss and a floor built for dancing

The stage carried a full LED screen as its backdrop, and above it we built strips of LED screen into a canopy over the stage area, so the content wrapped the band rather than sitting flat behind them. Over the dancefloor, a lighting truss system carried the moving-head rig that ran the room from dinner states to full show.

The floor itself was a bespoke printed dancefloor, made in house with the couple's Let's Dance design, laid between long rectangular family tables running down either side. The tables were finished with mirror tops, so the canopy, the florals and the lighting reflected back from every surface in the room. Staging, print and show operation all came from the same team.

The Transformation

Inside the Tenants' Hall: the stage, the LED canopy, the flown truss and the printed dancefloor turned a stately home hall into a concert venue for one night.

Built In House

The Let's Dance dancefloor was printed in house to the couple's design, laid between long family tables finished with mirror tops, so the whole build reflected back from every seat.
