We Are Hiring: Three Roles and a New Graduate Scheme

We are hiring. Three permanent roles are open at our Uxbridge headquarters and across London, and we are launching a graduate scheme for people at the very start of their career in live events.

Junior Project Manager

28,000 to 38,000. For someone who has done a year or two on the technical or coordination side and wants to move into running events properly. You start alongside our senior Project Managers and take on your own portfolio as fast as you are ready to.

The appeal of this one is scope. You see the whole arc of an event: the brief arriving, the site visit, the kit list, the quote, the crew, the load in, the show and the de rig. Nothing here is siloed, so you learn in two years what takes a decade at a company where the departments never speak.

Events Draftsman

30,000 to 44,000. Our drawings are the difference between a build that goes up cleanly and a build that finds its problems at midnight in an empty ballroom. This role owns them: stage plans, rigging plots, scenic details and the full drawing sets the crew works from.

We need genuine fluency in Vectorworks and the events modules, Spotlight for plots and paperwork, Braceworks for structural and load calculations, and ConnectCAD where signal paths need drawing. This is a specialist post rather than a general CAD seat, and the band reflects that.

Event Project Support

25,000 to 31,000. Every event that runs smoothly has someone behind it making sure the right kit, crew and paperwork are in the right place at the right time. Quotes, kit lists, schedules, venue liaison, and a pair of hands on site when it counts.

It is a genuine way into the industry, and the people who do it well here move into project management.

The graduate scheme: five directions, one starting line

An event is not one job. It is a dozen trades arriving in the right order. So our new graduate scheme does not push anyone down a single lane on day one.

Everyone starts with the same grounding, in the warehouse and on site, learning how kit is prepped, loaded, built and struck. Once that is second nature, there are five directions to specialise in:

• AV technician: sound, lighting, video and LED. Prep it, rig it, patch it, program it, drive it.
• Workshop and scenic: carpentry and set building in our own workshop, turning a drawing into something that survives being loaded into a truck at two in the morning.
• Print and graphics: large format print, signage and fully branded rooms.
• Technical design: Vectorworks drafting, rigging plots and 3D visuals.
• Project support: the planning side, quotes, schedules and venues.

You do not need to know which one is yours when you apply. Most people do not, and it is frequently not the one they expected. Read about the scheme.

Why here

We are a full time, in house team of 27 specialists rather than a booking agency with a phone list. Production managers, audio engineers, lighting designers, video technicians, scenic fabricators, print specialists and warehouse crew, all on the payroll, all in one building. You learn from the people sitting next to you.

The work runs from a 50 person boardroom to a 5,000 capacity build, in venues from the Natural History Museum to the Savoy, around 500 events a year. We hold four ISO certifications covering quality, environment, health and safety, and information security, and this year we were named AV / Tech Provider of the Year at the Cool Event Awards.

We will also be straight with you: live events are not a nine to five. Load ins start early, de rigs finish late, there are weekends in the diary and there is heavy lifting. In exchange you get variety no office job comes close to and a show at the end of it that either worked or did not, with no hiding place. The people who love this work love it for exactly that reason.
