Queen's House is a masterpiece of English Palladian architecture, designed by Inigo Jones in 1635 and set at the heart of the UNESCO Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site. With the Royal Observatory on the hill above and the National Maritime Museum on either side, it occupies one of the most significant positions of any venue in London.
The Great Hall is the centrepiece of the house: a perfect cube of space with original marble floors, ornate painted ceilings and a gold leaf installation by Turner Prize-winning artist Richard Wright that transforms the room into something extraordinary. It seats 120 for dinner or accommodates 200 for a standing reception, making it one of the most sought-after intimate dinner spaces in London.
The Orangery and South Parlours connect directly to the Great Hall and provide additional space for pre-dinner drinks, intimate dining or corporate breakouts. The Orangery and both parlours together accommodate up to 120 for a drinks reception when combined with the Great Hall.
Below the main house, The Undercroft is a completely different character: a dramatic vaulted space ideal for a post-dinner dance, informal reception or party for up to 150 standing. And outside, the South Lawns — 10,000 square metres with Greenwich Park and the Royal Observatory as the backdrop — accommodate events of up to 5,000 guests outdoors.
