The National Maritime Museum is the largest and most versatile venue within the Royal Museums Greenwich estate, and one of the most striking event spaces anywhere in London. Set within the UNESCO Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site, it combines the grandeur of a national museum with a modern glass-roofed atrium that can accommodate events at genuine scale.
The centrepiece is The Great Map, also known as Neptune Court: a spectacular glass-roofed atrium at the heart of the building. Up to 1,000 guests for a standing reception, 550 for a seated dinner. The soaring glass ceiling floods the space with natural light during the day and transforms after dark into a dramatic backdrop for award ceremonies, gala dinners and product launches. It is the kind of space that photographs itself.
The Streets are the covered gallery walkways that connect the main spaces of the museum. Lined with the museum's world-class maritime collection, they provide a distinctive and atmospheric backdrop for drinks receptions and dinner overflow, giving events a natural sense of journey and discovery as guests move through the building.
The South Colonnade and exterior offer an outstanding outdoor option: the colonnade walkway and South Lawn sit in the grounds of the World Heritage Site with views across Greenwich Park and the Royal Observatory on the hill above. The Leopold Müller Lecture Theatre provides a self-contained space for presentations, screenings and breakout sessions for up to 150.
