The UK India Awards is a prestigious annual ceremony recognising outstanding achievement across business, arts, philanthropy and public life. The 2018 edition, held at the iconic Park Lane Hilton ballroom, brought together senior figures from both countries for an evening that demanded production values to match its profile.
Kudos AV was appointed as the sole technical production partner, responsible for every element of the AV, lighting, staging and show operation from load-in through to wrap.

The Grand Ballroom at the Park Lane Hilton is one of London's most distinguished event spaces: high ceilings, crystal chandeliers and a capacity that suits both intimate galas and full-scale productions. Its proportions allowed Kudos AV to design a stage configuration that would have been impossible in a standard hotel ballroom.
The circular stage was positioned centrally within the room, allowing guests on all sides an unobstructed view of the awards presentations and live performances. The 14-metre curved LED wall wrapped the rear of the stage, creating a seamless panoramic backdrop visible from every seat in the room.
The production brief centred on three requirements: a stage design that would photograph and film as a world-class awards ceremony, an audio system capable of handling live vocal performances and award speeches with equal clarity, and a lighting rig with the flexibility to shift between gala dinner atmosphere and full concert production in moments.
Every technical decision was made with the audience experience first: clean sightlines, consistent colour temperatures, and a show flow designed to feel effortless regardless of the complexity running behind it.
A 14-metre curved LED video wall formed the centrepiece of the stage design, processed through a Barco E2 for seamless multi-input management and real-time content switching between live IMAG, award branding and event graphics.
A bespoke circular stage platform was built centrally in the ballroom, giving 360-degree sightlines to every table. The stage design incorporated sunstrip footlights along the full perimeter, creating a distinctive golden frame visible throughout the room.
A full moving head rig using ROBE fixtures was deployed across the overhead truss positions, providing beam and wash coverage for the stage, room wash lighting for the gala dinner and dynamic effects during performances and award presentations.
A d&b audiotechnik line array system delivered consistent, even coverage across the full ballroom floor. The system was tuned for speech intelligibility during award presentations and scaled to handle live vocal performances without compromise.
Multiple IMAG screens relayed live camera feeds of the awards presentations, ensuring every guest in the room had a close-up view of the stage regardless of their table position. Content management was handled through the Barco E2 processor.
Kudos AV provided a full on-site crew for the live show: lighting operator, audio engineer, video operator and technical director. Every cue across the awards presentations, speeches and performances was called and executed live.
