Kudos AV bring Venice to the Wedding of Rajvinder and Alexandra at the most prestigious Grosvenor House, Park Lane.
For those who haven’t been able to grace the wonderful city that is Venice, you are about to witness what it feels like to be royally decorated in all that is Venetian, and that took place at the wedding reception of Rajvinder & Alexandra at the most prestigious Grosvenor House, Park Lane.
The couple had approached Kudos AV with a vision to turn their event into something spectacular and out of the ordinary, as per their request, it was our job to cater to their specification. Initially, we began conversations with both the wedding planner and the couple to gain a visionary of their theme, the Venetian Ball.
The idea in itself was unorthodox, but it gave our creative team tons of innovation in achieving the theme to it’s maximum. After conducting our own individual research, we began contacting suppliers to add various aspects which would coincide with the theme, for example, using water fountains as a replica of those seen in Venice, and bringing the theme of Carnival to life by using pyrotechnics during the event.
At this stage, there were numerous discussions on what could be best utilised to bring out the theme in full effect, and after concluding the final theme, our clients opted to use Projection Mapping for the backdrop of their wedding. Our main incentive behind the use of the mapping was to incorporate features which would turn reality into a virtual reality, being able to produce the best representation of Venice possible, on that note, we went the extra mile for our couple by flying the Kudos AV team to Venice itself! We wanted to gain the most realistic content for the wedding, so Kudos AV went in search of ideas, all the way from travelling on gondolas along the canal, to witnessing events within the towns to gain as much information as possible, along with a few souvenirs for the rest of the team!
After the logistics and planning, it came to producing the event on the big day. Using Christie 20k projectors, we were able to gain a motion image of more than 4k resolution of the theme which hung from our very own projector drape.
After compiling the footage and shots from Venice, we needed to break down how to utilise the content with the theme, so we incorporated bespoke staging to add an exhilarant aspect to our virtual reality, creating bespoke balconies similar to those seen in Venice.
But how do we get to the stage? Simple, just cross the bridge over the canal. Creating a bespoke bridge which would fall over the water displays with fountains, very much a neat representation that is the romantic world of Venice.
Lighting rigged from the ceiling produced washes of red, amber and whites, both warm and cool, to add ambience and also effects for the party of course!
The night was taken away by Kudos Music’s very own DJ Jas Johal, playing all the hits behind a bespoke DJ Booth developed at the Kudos AV workshop.
