Asha Bhosle farewell tour

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Another whirlwind weekend of production has just flown by us again, but on this occasion, we were graced to be a core part of what was a very successful farewell tour by the musical legend that is Asha Bhosle. Recognised by figures all over the world, the icon that is formally known by many as “Ashaji” took to stage in Birmingham’s Genting Arena & The SSE Arena in Wembley, London in front of thousands of spectators, who were, of course, in awe of what they were witnessing for what was her final live performance in the UK. To be part of this event was a privilege in itself, and to mark the occasion, the production had to set heights, and you can be sure it most certainly did.

Kudos AV were aligned with Kamtech who co-ordinated the production in full flow, led by Production Manager Bhupinder Kambay who was ultimately successful in his vision of the production. Over 100 lighting fixtures, from Robe wash fixtures to Clay Paky Sharpy’s, illuminated the venue with a flamboyant wash of colour, whilst also adding effect to the stage to heighten the emotion that was most certainly prominent throughout the evening. However, we couldn’t let our star go unnoticed, using directional follow spots to ensure our star remained in the spotlight at all times! The lighting engineers were fixed in ensuring that the show not only sounded, but looked amazing, and they most certainly achieved that.

But we didn’t just stop there, over 100sq meters of our ever popular Absen LED P3.9 was present in the centre of the stage to provide abstract imagery which was synchronous with the melodies set by Asha Bhosle throughout the evening, with two side LED panels providing a live feed of the performance for spectators to view throughout the venue, meaning there wouldn’t be a moment where the crowd ever felt disconnected from the living legend. To ensure the content wouldn’t be compromised, we utilized our newest addition to the visual department, Nextage, to ensure the switching of content was completed with ease, whilst maintaining complete resolution and scale.

Once Birmingham was done and dusted, it was all about ensuring the team arrived in London to set up for the next day, and they did, with Kudos arranging the tour bus from Birmingham to London.
